Palliative Care Pups
Sanctuary Acres Boxer Rescue (SABR) Palliative Care Program cares for geriatric, terminally ill and medically fragile dogs. SABR insures these dogs are kept comfortable while they live their final days.
In our care, these pups are vetted, and get to complete their bucket lists with the help of their foster family and sponsors.
Sponsorship is so important to our palliative care program because the health and safety of these dogs is our number one priority. We incur monthly bills from veterinary care, dentistry, dietary needs, medicine, and supplies such as diapers, pee pads, and so on. One time donations can also go directly to offsetting these ever-mounting costs.
Thank you for your generous love and support. Together we can and will continue to change the life of one baby at a time. Dogs in our Palliative Care Program who would otherwise be left behind and potentially euthanized before their time. If you have any questions, would like to make a one-time donation, or would like to become a monthly sponsor (of any dollar amount), please contact us.
PHOENIX
Accepting Adoption Applications for Phoenix.
He is ready to find his own loving, patient adopter, as he is now gradually overcoming his fear of humans, and would benefit from having a permanent nurturing home.
Phoenix came to SABR in a horrendous physical and emotional state. He was extremely malnourished, very fearful of humans, and infested with whipworms. Since being with us, he has doubled in weight (26 lbs at intake to 50 lbs currently), been treated with Panacur for the worms, and gone down from a plethora of medications to just two remaining antibiotics. His heart and lungs are good, and his lab work is clear. He continues to get three meals a day of kibble with wet food mixed in.
Phoenix is understandably very skittish, and emotionally very fragile, since he is deaf, blind in one eye, and scarred from an abusive past. He needs time to warm up to people, but once you have earned his trust, he will become kind and loving. He is a really good boy. He needs a nurturing home with calm, quiet loving humans; he gets along with other calm dogs.
Phoenix is excellent on a leash. He has learned some ASL words: he understands signing for no, sit, water, food, potty, stop, stay, and good boy. SABR will teach these to his adopter.
Please consider adopting this well deserving boy by filling out an application
for Phoenix.
HARLEY
Accepting Adoption
Applications
for Harley.
Harley is 2 years old. She is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and great with children.
Harley has lived with other dogs in the past, so would not need to be an only pup in the home. She has NOT been tested with cats.
LUCY
Accepting Adoption
Applications
for Lucy.
Lucy is a 7 yr old (11/3/17) intact female.
Through no fault of her own, this sweet girl finds herself needing a new forever home. Sadly, Lucy lost her guardian in November, and family members are unable to keep her.
This sweet munchkin is house trained, loves children, car rides, her toys, playing fetch and to shake paws.
She has NOT been tested with cats and since she has been the only dog, they are unsure if she gets along with other dogs.

SAVAGE
Accepting Adoption
Applications
for Savage.
Don't let the name fool you! Savage is a sweet 2 yr old boy that will need to be neutered before he can be adopted.
We will update as we get more information on him.
MAJOR & MILLIE
AKA M&M
Accepting Adoption Applications for Major and/or Millie.
Major is 2 1/2 years old, neutered, and weighs around 55 lbs. He does not like getting his nails clipped (or his feet touched in general).
Millie is a little more petite at only around 45 lbs. She's spayed and recently turned 2 years old.
They are both leash trained, crate trained, and good with children.
We would prefer they be adopted together as a bonded pair if possible.

BETSY & BENJAMIN
AKA B&B
Accepting Adoption Applications for Betsy and/or Benjamin.
Benjamin is a neutered boy around 3 years old, and Betsy is the pretty brindle spayed girl around 5 years old.
They are extremely sweet pups and get along well with others.
We would prefer they be adopted together as a bonded pair if possible

MURPHY
We are accepting Adoption Applications for Murphy.
**Update 2/21 - Murphy has some health issues that will require at least an initial consultation with a specialist. We are trying to raise funds to get him an appointment.
This handsome 1 1/2 year old is looking for his forever home. He is leash trained, crate trained, good with children, and housebroken. We are unsure how Murphy reacts to cats or other dogs.
Due to no fault of his own (owner work schedule not allowing enough time for Murphy), he has found himself in rescue.
WILLOW - Pending Adoption
Willow is about 10 months old and still needs to be spayed and cleared as healthy before she will be available for adoption. She is being treated for Lyme disease and parasites.
She was rescued from horrible outdoor living conditions. While she does seem to be dog friendly, we are unsure right now as to how she reacts with children or cats.
CAPTAIN - Pending Adoption
Captain is 5 years old. He is leash trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, good with children, and housebroken. He is very well trained and just an all-around sweet boy.
Due to no fault of his own (owner health issues), he has found himself in rescue.
TULA - Pending Adoption
FEMALE PUPS
Tula has four beautiful baby girls, one is pending adoption.
The three available are named according to their collar colors (Pink, Green, Purple).
